Recap of Tales from the Whipped.

The Columbia Quad Squad would like to thank everyone for coming out to our October 25th bout, Tales from the Whipped! Columbia QuadSquad v. Carolina Bootleggers. We had a great time and are glad to have your support in our journey to becoming a nationally ranked, women’s flat track, roller derby league!

We had a fast paced, hard hittin' bout which really put our ability to the test. Thanks to our great coaches and the cheers from loyal fans like you, we were able to defeat the Bootleggers 89 to 44! Mel Anoma and Crystal Cut led the charge, blowing through the pack and putting the big numbers on the board! Our captain, Holly Hunter broke down the Bootleggers defense by controlling the pack and setting the pace for our Jammers. We would like to say a special thank you to Claudraphobia for her contributions to our team! This was her last bout as she will be stepping behind the scenes to assist in grooming our new members and push our league to the next level. Along with Debya Gore 2000, she is passing her knowledge and love for the sport on to our "B" team. They will be solely dedicated to bringing you more derby action!

Our Angels and Devils expo contained mixed teams from across the Southeast and delivered the type of fun only derby can. We would like the thank the Atlanta Rollergirls, Sweet Union, the Regulators, Savanah and URGE for joining our beloved CQS girls to put on a pre bout show! The Halloween theme was especially fun! The Devils were able to edge out the Angels, giving our fans the excuse to be a little bad in the following weeks!

The Columbia QuadSquad would like to officially thank the Sexual Trauma Services of

the Midlands for joining us during the bout. Along side their awesome masked heroes and through the generocity of our fans, we raised over $1000! The CQS ladies strive to promote awareness in our comunitty for issues that affect Columbia's women and children. STSM’s mission is to provide services to sexual trauma survivors and education about sexual trauma issues. http://www.stsm.org/ In voting for your favorite derby girl, you helped raise money for programs and counseling that change the lives of many neglected and abused individuals and families in the Midlands and surrounding counties. We will be awarding "The Cape" to the derby girl you selected as your favorite during the next bout November 21. You will have to be in attendance to witness the winner of this coveted award!
